something in her style...

i´m in love. with i-don´t-know-how-many-dresses from mod cloth, which is new to me and i can´t believe i finally found a site which sells dresses exactly the way i love them. i´m currently drawing out a plan how i could get one of them... the following steps have to be taken first:
1. move to the us. shipping one dress from there to europe is ridiculous. my green heart can´t do that. and i can´t afford more than one dress at the moment.
2. find investors who help me financing the shipping and the dress (i am skint!)
3. decide which dress is gonna be a future closet treasure (this is the hardest part of the plan until now)
these are the ones i roughly selected in the first quick search. this selection is by no means rational. some i picked because i thought 'i need a dress like that', some i picked just because they were as beautiful as the five dresses before them, some i didn´t pick because i have a dress similar to them and some i picked despite the fact that i have a dress scaringly similar. others i just picked because they looked as if they were meant to be mine. and because i have great shoes to wear them with.

and then i stopped picking more dresses. i now really need to move to the us. or learn to sew (which becomes a more and more attractive option)
have a nive weekend! for me it´s the best weekend of the year because my summer holiday starts today!
love and peace!

i´ll be there on the next train

hey!
i´m trying to get back to a more regular posting pattern... i used to try to get one post done a day or at least as many posts a month as the month has days... i might not get that done in the future, but i will try to post every second day.
today i´ll show you a pic i just recently found, one that is very similar to one that is quite well known, with the only difference that in the new pic john´s eyes are open (or was the new one the one with closed eyes??)
which ever pic is new, i loved it from the start because i wondered how that position can be comfortable... that was before i tried to sleep on an italian night train. :D

new blog!

hi,
i didn´t mean to let this blog die... i was on holiday, again. in italy, again. it is becoming my second home i guess. anyway i´m back and promise to be a good girl and post.
no it´s not my new blog, but a blog which is new to me, cause i found it only minutes ago! it has a lot of pics of the first wives and girlfriend, little biographies and, as it just took off, it will possibly (and hopefully) indulge into even more interestin things! you can find it in my blogroll. some pics which i cheekily stole:
one of mo with a wig at the grapefruit party, celebrating the release of dear delilah. i didn´t even know mo was there!
some of the how i won the was premiere (i´m obsessed with that event... the outfits!!) which i didn´t know.by the way, mo´s dress from the premiere glittered. because i was wondering. cyn wore something which made her look like an academy award which attempted to turn into a bee (in a positive way of course!), jane was in a flashing red mini dress with embroderies all over (which makes me wonder how she could sit in it), pattie´s outfit was green silk and a velvety jacket+a boa (a little bit over the top... but that´s the 60s! YAY) and mo´s dress always seemed a little boring (due to the fact the i still don´t know its colour). then i saw a pic where it glittered! man was relieved! i couldn´t bear it if a beatlewife wore a boring dress at my favourite beatle event!!
errr yeah... glad that problems like this are my only "problems" at the mo :D

wanna be a factory girl?

so, i´m gonna talk a bit about the movie factory girl with sienna miller as edie, because now is a good time to talk about it... the movie is over a year old and nobody except fans of a certain decade remember it anyway. i must admit i only watched it on youtube (but it was a kind of director´s cut version).
i can´t say much about the content or if it was researched well, because all i know about edie and andy is pretty much based on the film, various websites and a warhol biographie. but look-wise i was quite amazed, i liked the general feeling and atmosphere created by the set and in my little amateur mind it captured the times well. and i was very happy to find some of the dresses i knew and loved on edie again on sienna like that one:
and they chose the right earrings, which i was afraid could be forgotten (being the earring sucker that i am)
generally for 60s people like me it was a great movie, dress-wise, location-wise and vibe-wise. sienna was, despite what i´ve read elsewhere a great choice for edie... i didn´t even know she could acutally act. and andy was just like i´d imagined the real one to be.
if i ever grow up to be a director (haha) i´m sure i´ll do my 60s movies (which i´m already planning) more like this one then all the beatles-tribute films i´ve seen so far.
errh yea... so i´m off to become a director now ;D

p.s: one point of criticism: edie doesn´t wear the black boots half as often than sienna!

how john went emo

i´m wearing indian drop-crotch trousers today and felt like posting pics from india (probably my favourite time from the whole beatle-decade). these pics tell a little story (in my mind at least :D)
so here´s some dude talking to john, while somebody takes a picture or films...
then obviously somebody suggested pattie should be in the pic too (well why not have a pretty model/beatlewife in one´s holiday snaps??)
'why don´t we all just stand over there with john??... hey you guys come over we´re having a picture taken with john!'... all the while john has decided to go emo. probably hoping that if he can´t see them they can´t see him too...
heehee...

we got this far and ain't a-goin' back and ain't a-gonna grieve no more

hi,
sooo i did get fed up with being lazy just in time on thursday and i wanted to post something substinental. well that was when my iBook died (*buhuuuu*). and it is in fact very dead and so far it doesn´t look like it´s gonna return to the land of the living (not giving up hope though). i called it mackenzie. it had all my beatle photos ... nah not all but the more rare ones.
well that makes blogging on here even more low profile. i´m saving up for a MacBook and hope i´ll get it soon and then i´ll go on and reform the whole blog, cause i´ve seen so many great great blogs out there that i need to do something against the "i´m not worthy to have a blog"-vibes.
more on that when i´m over the loss of mackenzie.
and now for some pics... moody and black´n´white, please.

it was hard to find pics were they are all looking moody... judging from the pics they must have been quite happy people, in most at least one of them is looking like he´s having a real good time :D or they were good actors... anyway after finding five pics i stopped looking for more... please excuse the random-ness.
Love&Peace

exile

a pic of keef and his son marlon from their time in nellcote. they did a lot of bonding there, as it was the first time keith actually had time to spend with his son. on the other hand nellcote must have been crazy (in a positive i-want-to-be-there sort of way :D)

oh i know i love you

so sorry that i forgot your birthday, ringo! all i ever do is forgetting birthdays! *hitsherforhead*
but BIG but: i do think of the beatles far too much anyway so it´s more or less okay that i´m not religious or something about celebrating their birthdays. my parents would also lock me away if i started that. (sidenote: yesterday i watched a bit of a hard day´s night because i haven´t seen it in ages and my mum sort of goes: 'aren´t you a bit old for that?'... huh? since when can you be too old for being utterly besotted with somebody like the beatles?? certainly not me. ever. out there to prove that. and to protect my inner child. and fangirl. period.)
let´s celebrate with a bunch of pics of our dear drummer and an unusal instrument: guitars

happy birthday!

love swings!

a crappy little pic of the making of the all you need is love vid (which was at the same time a party). if you´re really good at spotting people you can see a lot of swinging londons familiar faces: cilla black, keith and kim moon, pattie harrison, two members of the fool (i can identify mareike) and someone with the back of her head to us, which i think is jenny boyd. the two men behind cilla... the one next two keith moon could be pete townshed, brian epstein or any other person. the other one funnily looks like david bowie, but sure isn´t him (only if he time travelled :D)
love is all you need.

the other george

i wonder if they sometimes got the two georges mixed up in the studio...
"george could you just stop it?"
"... i wasn´t doing anything...."
"not you, the other george..."

actually george was a quite good-looking fella, very different from our lads of course. he seems more 50s than 60s to me, but actually he probably was just more conventional 60s than i´m used to. i mean in most parts of the world the 60s weren´t as great as in our little london clan. thankfully i´m not a historian and can blank that fact out completely :D

la la la lazy

i´m sorry for my bad blogging lately... i´m just to lazy to get it done... actually i´m too lazy to get anything done and because that´s no state to be in i´m sure it´ll change soon. but for now i´m afraid the blogging on here will stay rather low profile until... i get fed up with being lazy... i guess that´ll happen around thursday :D
i hope you all had a great meat free monday! i had sugo with soy stuff in it instead of meat and spaghetti. and now i can´t move because i ate too much... i feel a bit like mo in that pic only that i´m not pregnant and have no right to eat for two... damn... anyways, where´s my chocolate?
:D

let´s jam!

i don´t know if you guys jam with your friends, but if you don´t i highly recommend it... a few days ago i was at a party and somebody had a guitar and started playing all the old hits and the beatlestandards and the whole room sang along... out of nowhere people were singing harmonies, tapping and clapping the rhythm, creating fill-ins, it was a wonderful, soundful experience. i´m always so disappointed when it doesn´t happen, a good party needs a jam session. thankfully in my family there a awfully many jams, which makes family gatherings less boring and aunts and uncles much more sympathetic.
well that the beatles jammed a lot is no secret and thankfully a lot of jams and session are banned forever on tape! even party jams... hee
