whenever i´m bored or can´t be bothered to do anything else i read through the years and look what happened on whatever day it is. so i did today and then i went: “... wait, i´ve got a beatles-blog... and this beatles-book... i could, dare i say it?, rule the world!! ;D... nah i could make posts about it!"
so here we go:
1961:
-the cavern (lunchtime)
-cassanova club, sampson&barlow´s new ballroom liverpool
-litherland townhall
-in late february, stuart sutcliffe returned to liverpool to see his parents but only stayed for a couple of weeks.
1962:-the cavern (evening) with gerry&the pacemakers and the searchers
1963:
-granada cinema, shrewsbury (on the helen shapiro tour)
-in then tour coach on the way to this gig, john and paul wrote 'from me to you', which became their next single.
1964:
-BBC studios ant 201 piccadilly. the beatles recorded a from us to you bank holiday special for the light programme. the group was interviewed by alan freeman. they taped a lot of songs which now ended up on 'live at the bbc' (i shortened this a bit, sry)
-the peter&gordon single "a world without love", penned by john and paul, was released
-the single "why/cry for a shadow" by tony sheridan and the beatles on the b-side was released in the UK.
1965:-the day was spent filming on new province island, bahamas
1966:-the cavern was closed by the official receiver wiht debts of 10.000 pounds. the police had to break down barricades to evict fans who had holed up inside to resist the closure.
1967:-abbey road, sgt. pepper sessions. they worked on "lucy in the sky with diamonds", a title
which originated from a drawing of three-year-old julian, which inspired john instantly.
the next years have no special events on feb. 28... i shortened it all a bit and put some things in my words, cause i´m a lazy bum and don´t want to type everything :Pi especially love that last bit... both the song and the drawing is beautiful... when i first saw the drawing i´d never guessed that jules was only three at the time!! he certainly inheritated a lotta talent from both his parents. and i love john, the proud daddy! could have shown that more often, though... but who am i to judge.
love and peace!
