28.02.

hee, i´ve got a wonderful book, it´s called 'the Beatles - a diary', i´m sure you heard of that one.
whenever i´m bored or can´t be bothered to do anything else i read through the years and look what happened on whatever day it is. so i did today and then i went: “... wait, i´ve got a beatles-blog... and this beatles-book... i could, dare i say it?, rule the world!! ;D... nah i could make posts about it!"
so here we go:
1961:
-the cavern (lunchtime)
-cassanova club, sampson&barlow´s new ballroom liverpool
-litherland townhall
-in late february, stuart sutcliffe returned to liverpool to see his parents but only stayed for a couple of weeks.

1962:-the cavern (evening) with gerry&the pacemakers and the searchers

1963:
-granada cinema, shrewsbury (on the helen shapiro tour)
-in then tour coach on the way to this gig, john and paul wrote 'from me to you', which became their next single.

1964:
-BBC studios ant 201 piccadilly. the beatles recorded a from us to you bank holiday special for the light programme. the group was interviewed by alan freeman. they taped a lot of songs which now ended up on 'live at the bbc' (i shortened this a bit, sry)
-the peter&gordon single "a world without love", penned by john and paul, was released
-the single "why/cry for a shadow" by tony sheridan and the beatles on the b-side was released in the UK.

1965:-the day was spent filming on new province island, bahamas

1966:-the cavern was closed by the official receiver wiht debts of 10.000 pounds. the police had to break down barricades to evict fans who had holed up inside to resist the closure.

1967:-abbey road, sgt. pepper sessions. they worked on "lucy in the sky with diamonds", a title
which originated from a drawing of three-year-old julian, which inspired john instantly.the next years have no special events on feb. 28... i shortened it all a bit and put some things in my words, cause i´m a lazy bum and don´t want to type everything :P
i especially love that last bit... both the song and the drawing is beautiful... when i first saw the drawing i´d never guessed that jules was only three at the time!! he certainly inheritated a lotta talent from both his parents. and i love john, the proud daddy! could have shown that more often, though... but who am i to judge.
love and peace!

i can say no more... just this:

so beatle-people,
i can´t post more piccies of paul now, because i´m afraid i´ll die of more cuteness.
i just wanted to let you know that i´m incredibly relieved that i can still do it - i can still swoon over the adorable paul, i can still get all giggly and week in the knees when being placed in front of a pic of those doe-eyes, i can still freak out at the mention of anything "macca". YAY!
well why make a post about it??
because i thought something was wrong with me after having a terribly long lennon-period, which doesn´t go together AT ALL with my splitted-in-two-halfs-lennon/mccartney-heart (yes i like inventing words). i hope can go back to a more healthy 50/50 split.
anyway i´m cured and to underline it: I LOVE PAUL XD
love and peace

and grow up to this...

i can say no more.

and those little clones...

... would look like this :)

that´s why i´d like to clone

this pic is by mike mccartney.
... clone and then marry and then make more little clones and raise them as my kids...

i am only kidding, i actually find cloning very wrong and scary.

mcCharming

wait a minute, please... i´m busy... paul is charming me pants off :D

haha, that was lame. i´ve been researching david bailey and sadly couldn´t find anything which i didn´t know before or anything of special interest. i once posted the portraits bailey did of pattie boyd and i creativley named this post milk`n`baileys. stupid reference, sorry, but i love baileys!

play a song for me

well, there´s at least a bit of paul in it...

lennon AND mccartney

since i can´t decide anyway and am a peaceloving person i stop this battling and cut out the 'versus', so i can just celebrate the union that is john/paul. the photos i like best of them as a duo are the ones shot in india.

and from now on i will give paulie more attention and prevent this blog from becoming a john lennon-blog... gripweed is still wonderful though (he´s a bit jealous of my camera but that makes him only more adorable) ;D

lennon vs mccartney

for those who know me a bit or have been checking on this blog now and then it won´t be surprising that i go on and on about how i can´t decide between john and paul. this is so cruel, whenever i meet another beatlefan one of the first things to ask is: and who´s your fav??
aaarrrgh i just don´t know... i mean how can you decide between those two?? they´re yin and yang, how can you choose yin and dismiss yang??

can i have both, puuuleeeease?

woman

i´m still surfing the 'i found out that i love yoko'-wave and bring you a pic which is so cute that it made me stare and giggle at it for about five minutes non-stop. and i wasn´t jealous at all! i´m beyond that now :D (both being jealous and giggling stupidly over a pic)

...*sigh*...

this pic makes me want to have babies with paul... actually paul makes me want to have babies with paul, but this pic and this sweet little girl sort of underlines it ;)
it´s from the same tour, i think. if you look at paul´s outfit it could be even the same day.

fangirldresslove

maaan, fans are so annoying with all that screaming... (not sure though what i would do when i´d find myself somewhere near a beatle :) but i always liked the dress this young fan is wearing. it´s from there second american tour in summer 1964.

'hey john, i´m your... oldest fan!'

now that´s something unique to say, isn´t it?? 'biggest fan' sounds cheesy anyway! :D she looks so sad when he leaves... like heart-broken...

minis, midis, maxis, boots, tights, glasses...

the paperdress:
patterned tights:

the baby-doll mini:

not sure if these boots are made for walking :D

you could never decide if you like´em round or not? :)

maxiscarves,-coats and -dresses:

i found a site:http: //digilander.libero.it/guido_1953/main.htm
i post my favourites and invite you to look around :)

now there´s a rare one

john and yoko. normally i´m quite good at finding out when a picture was taken. normally i can tell by the hairstyles. normally it is very clear to judge by hairlength and -style which year it is and if it´s from the beginning of a year, mid-year or towards the end of a year. if that fails i can normally tell the period by clothes. that´s easy, you just have to know what was hip in that season and then minus one year because the beatles were a bit ahead ;)
but what a massive fail, i just don´t know when this was taken. john´s hair is like a chamelion in the 70s. i think he even had a last hair-cut either the day or the day before he died. and i can´t think of any specific time when john liked to wear lumberjack shirts like this one... or wore his hair like he does here. all i can say is that i think it may have been taken after 75. cause before that i normally can tell... i´d place it around the beginning of 1977. or mid/end 76. then again, yoko looks like pre-75... *aaarrgh*
does any of you know??

my new love

hey it´s valentine´s day... i couldn´t care less, to be honest. but to be conform and tolerant i will post about love. my love. my new love. yes gripweed is still around but we agreed that we´re more in for the... errrh... free love (still didn´t make it to vegas and decided to just skip the marrying-part :D)
so my new sweet-heart is very pretty, somewhat artsy, much fun to hold and perfect to take it everywhere with me. we are very close, especially in our way of understanding and liking art, we´re a wonderful symbiosis. i like looking through my love and find new ways to look at things and mostly end up trying to catch and freeze those moments in time. and i do. because my new love is a camera. it´s as old as it´s old-fashioned. i´m only taking black´n´whites till now, because that´s how i learned it. i´m also learning to process them on my own and that´s sooo cool. i can only recommend it, if you have the chance. watching a picture process is magic!!
so let me introduce my baby:ain´t he pretty? have you any suggestions for a name?
love&peace and happy valentine´s day

the firemen

seems paul just picked up an old hobby of the beatles when he named himself the firemen... the beatles were firemen at heart (except george who was... FIRE ;D)

those wedding bells...

today is the anniversary of ringo starr´s and maureen cox`s wedding. they had met in liverpool where maureen cox, whose name was actually mary, was a regular at the cavern and a enthusiastic fan of the beatles, especially ringo. maureen had once made a bet with a friend that her friend wouldn´t dare to kiss paul, which was her favourite. opposed to the friend maureen did kiss paul and as she was already kissing a beatle she kissed ringo too. they began dating everytime ringo was in town. when the beatles became famous ringo had, of course, a lot of other women and affairs, but she remained the one he really cared for. in 1965 maureen, when she was only 18, got accidentally pregnant and that caused their wedding to be a rather small and quickly planned event. attendend were john&cynthia, george and brian (paul was on holiday). it is also reported that ringo proposed her in a nightclub after he had heard of her pregnancy.
nevertheless the couple was very happy and excited. they had three children, zac (1965), jason (1967) and lee (1970). in the early 70s things sadly went a bit wrong and after an affair with george the marriage was divorced. maureen was devastated and drove her motor-bike face-first against a wall. she had to have plastic surgery, but found she looked better than before. eventually she got together with isaac tigrett, owner of the hard rock cafe-chain, whom she married and had a daughter with.
ringo married the bond-girl barbara bach in 1982.
